CHS Family Mourns the Death of Mike Culp

CamdenBulldogs.com would like to send our condolences to the family of longtime CHS girls coach Mike Culp. Coach Culp passed away on Wednesday after a long illness.

Culp coached the CHS girls team to the 1982 state championship and shaped the minds of Camden students for decades. After retiring he went on to a color analyst role for WPUB Radio's high school girls basketball broadcasts. Camden High will honor Coach Culp at Friday's home basketball game against Wilson.

CHS Baseball Ranked Top-5 Preseason

The 2010 South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association has released its pre-season baseball polls and the defending AAA Lower State champion Camden Bulldogs under coach Denny Beckley sit fifth in the rankings.

Camden comes off a season that saw a dramatic lower state championship win and then a tough loss to Belton-Honea Path in the state championship series. It was the first time that the Bulldogs advanced to the title round since 1989.

Ahead of Camden is B-HP in first, Riverside second, South Aiken third and St. James fourth. After Camden, AC Flora, J.L. Mann, Lugoff-Elgin, Greer, and Brookland-Cayce round out the top 10.

CHS Basketball Replay on TruVista Channel 39

The 2009-2010 CHS Basketball season is underway, and KM Video Productions of Camden is back for another year of basketball on your television. KMVP will video several of Camden's varsity girls and boys games beginning in December, and all the games they video will be shown on TruVista Cable Channel 39 and available for purchase on DVD for just $15.

DVD's are also available of all of CHS's 2009 regular season varsity football games including the 34th annual Camden Shrine Club Football Jamboree. All DVD's are just $15, and can be purchased by calling 803-432-8796, or logging on to www.kmvideoproductions.com.

Paint a Camden "C" On Your Driveway

Want to show your Bulldog Pride? Well the Bulldog Spirit Club has one way as we approach Rivalry Week next week. The Spirit Club is painting Camden "C's" on driveways. The cost is $10 per "C" and can be painted in black or gold paint. The Spirit Club would love to see every paved driveway in Camden stamped to show support.
