Bobby Engram (CHS '91 - Penn State '96)

WR - Seattle Seahawks

Bobby is one of the most celebrated athletes in CHS history. Not only did he lead the way to Camden's undefeated 1990 State Championship team, he was also an integral part of two state title baseball teams, in 1988 and 1989. Engram is perhaps best remembered for his spectacular, one-handed touchdown catch - in overtime - to beat Hartsville 13-10 enroute to the '90 championship.

At Penn State, Engram teamed with Kerry Collins to lead the Nittany Lions to an unbeaten season in 1994, a Rose Bowl victory, and a final ranking of #2 in the nation. Along the way, Engram earned the Fred Billetnikoff award, given to the nation's top receiver.

Engram played five seasons (1996-2000) with the Chicago Bears, before signing on with Seattle prior to the 2001 season.

Vonnie Holliday (CHS '94 - North Carolina '98)

DE, Miami Dolphins

Vonnie was a famous two-sport star with the Bulldogs, playing with the 1990 football state champs as well as starring for Dale Reeves Runnin' Dogs on the basketball court. Holliday played on CHS football teams that won 35 games during his playing days and he also helped lead the 1994 Camden basketball squad to the Upper State title game.

Holliday moved on to the University of North Carolina, where he was just one of a handful of true freshmen to see action in his first season on campus. Holliday teamed with present NFL stars Marcus Jones, Greg Ellis and Dre' Bly to form one of the top defensive teams in college football over his last three years. During his final two seasons at Carolina, the Tar Heels won 21 games and two Gator Bowl championships.

Vonnie began his NFL career playing defensive end on the frozen tundra for the Green Bay Packers. He was named the CNN/SI Rookie of the Year in 1998. Following the 2002 season, Holliday signed a free agent package with Kansas City Chiefs and following the 2004 campaign, signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Richie Williams (CHS '01 - Appalachian State '05)

QB - Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Beginning in 1998 as a sophomore quarterback at Camden High School, Richie Williams helped lead the resurgence of Bulldog football under coach Jimmy Neal.  Williams directed the spread offense to 10 wins in 1999 and 12 victories - just one shy of Williams-Brice Stadium - as senior in 2000.

Williams then went on to Appalachian State where he rewrote nearly every passing record in the Mountaineers' record book and broke many other Southern Conference records as well.  Williams capped his brilliant college career by leading the Mountaineers to their first ever I-AA national championship in 2005, overcoming an ankle injury he suffered in the semifinals to come off the bench in the title game to spark ASU's 21-16 win over Northern Iowa.  Williams was named a first team All-American by several different organizations.

On May 17, 2006, Williams signed a free agent contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.  You can read about Richie and the Tiger-Cats here.
